AHA, Nintendo Encourage Americans to Get Active

Today, the AHA announced a first-ever strategic relationship with the popular gaming giant, Nintendo of America — aimed at helping people create healthy lifestyles through physically active play. Our goal is to eliminate common barriers to physical activity with a call-to-action that challenges people to “Get Informed,” “Get Empowered” and “Get Active.” With active gaming products like Nintendo’s Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort, people can find fun and accessible ways to become more physically active.

FIT Kids Act Passes House - say thank you!

On April 21st, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fitness Integrated with Teaching Kids Act, bringing us another step closer to ensuring the quality and quantity of physical education in our nation's schools are addressed.

The FIT Kids Act (HR 1585) would establish a framework for schools to closely look at the quality and quantity of PE they are providing, and to supply parents with that information to better understand the PE their kids are receiving.

Please send a note of thanks to your Representative today for his action to improve the health of our kids!
